AI-Assisted Recommendations: Keep Human Judgment in Charge
Use AI for drafting without inventing experience, product evidence or results. Review the copy, imagery and commercial relationship before a recommendation reaches its audience.
In this guide
AI can help turn notes into a first draft or make a complicated explanation easier to follow. It cannot give someone experience they have not had or make an unsupported product claim true. The useful role for the tool is to assist the work while people remain responsible for what reaches the audience.
Separate evidence from fluent wording
A polished sentence can make an uncertain statement sound settled. Before publishing, identify the source of each important claim: actual experience, information supplied by the brand, or an opinion. Keep those categories visible in the final copy.
For example, a listing may provide a garment measurement. You can explain why that measurement matters, but you should not imply that you wore the garment or tested its fit. A draft should preserve that distinction rather than smoothing it away.
Review pictures as carefully as words
A generated image or video may illustrate a concept. It should not stand in for a real customer, an actual product test or a documented result. Product details should not be changed in an illustration and then presented as evidence about the supplied item.
Use authentic product imagery when explaining a specific design. Confirm permission to use it and keep the illustrated option matched to the destination link. A convincing image can still show the wrong color, garment length or included piece.
Give human review a real decision to make
| Check | Decision to make |
|---|---|
| Accuracy | Is each material claim supported by the right source? |
| Relevance | Does the product belong with this audience? |
| Limitations | Has an important restriction been lost in the rewrite? |
| Experience | Could the reader mistake a listing detail for a personal test? |
| Relationship | Is the commercial connection easy to understand? |
The reviewer needs room to remove a claim or decline the recommendation. A request for a rubber stamp is not the same as independent judgment. The creator’s voice matters because it includes the ability to disagree.
Use saved time to make the recommendation better
Spend some of the time saved checking the selected product, asking a supplier a question or responding to a reader. Useful follow-up can build more trust than another polished paragraph that says very little.
When a commercial relationship exists, explain it plainly before someone acts. Read the agreement and current participation terms; an AI-written caption is not a substitute for understanding what you have agreed to.
Keep responsibility with the people publishing
COOUP’s idea of human-powered commerce gives technology a supporting role: helping people connect around products and recommendations. Accuracy, care and follow-through still depend on the people involved.
Before you share, ask whether the audience can tell who the product may suit, what you actually know and what remains to be checked. A clear, modest claim is more useful than a confident statement that outruns the evidence.
